High Performance Roofs

The StrandecTM High performance Roof is a unique roof system with StrandecTM Roof Formers acting as a substrate for an outer membrane of metal, cement screed or concrete slab. This unique roof can offer a host of values such as savings in power consumption due to the effects of thermal- mass, radiation emittance and reflection properties, besides acoustics and fire resistance properties. StrandecStrandecTM roof systems comprise of StrandecTM Roof formers placed on purlins and outer surface finished with either a standing seam metal deck or with cement screed or with a reinforced concrete slab.

Design Parameters
System
The choice of system will be based on the requirements – i.e height, spans, fire resistance, thermal shield, acoustics and other loading factors.

• SRF(C) – StrandecTM slab panels composite
• Thickness 30, 40 and 50mm
• Width 600mm
• Length 2400mm
• Metal T&G channels
• Long Tailed fixing clips
• Concealed Seam clips
• Fixing clips for purlin
• Slab clips
• Standing Seam metal roof
• Nails for wooden joists
• Drive screws with washer
• Aluminium foils
• Rebars as per design requirements for concrete membranes
• Glassfibre Mat as a substrate for cement screeding where required
• Cement plaster for screeding if required
• Joint Fibre Tape for seamless finish if required
• Jointing Compound when seamless finish is required
System Choices
StrandecTM Panel made from Inorganic Bonded Composites completely mineralized using Portland cement makes it as strong as wood which does not shatter or crack and is fire resistant. The matrix structure gives it strength with lightweight and also with unique acoustical and thermal insulating.

The definitive properties of StrandecTM roof formers combined with the revolutionary Standing Seam Metal Roof or other traditional cement screeds or concrete a wide range of composite roofs can be assembled in a fast track construction StrandecTM High Performance roofs perform to varying fire ratings, acoustics, and thermal requirements.
Application
StrandecTM High Performance Roofs can be an ideal choice for various end users such as offices, schools, hotels, hospitals, industries, warehouses, theatres etc.
Construction Procedures

StrandecTM Roof Formers shall be laid directly on the square cut ends being supported on the purlins and every panel having at least one purlin at the centre of the panel.

• The ends are butted against long tail fixing clips with at least two numbers per panel. The edges should have a minimum bearing of 25mm on the purlin.

• The metal edges can be fixed to purlins with Drive screws two numbers on all corners of the panel ends.

• Fillet welding the fixing clips attached to the panel one per panel in the centre secures the panel to the purlin.

A layer of Aluminium foil can be placed on top of the former as a vapor barrier where required especially for Metal roof membranes.

• For the Standing Seam Metal roof membrane the concealed seam clip is attached to the ends of the panel and snug fitted to the purlin. The Metal Roof is inserted in the concealed seam clip on the top and the top end of the crest is seamed by first crimping and later on heat sealing.

• Cement screeding can be done as per standard practice after placing a glass fiber matt on the StrandecTM Roof Former to act as reinforcement for the screed to be placed on top.

• Concrete slabs can be placed as per standard practice after placing the slab clips to the panel to integrate it with the concrete.

• In both the cases for screeding and concrete placement subsequent water proofing has to be done on top.
