Permanent Shuttering
The StrandecTM composite slabs is a unique cast in situ floor slabs and oof decks with StrandecTM Slab lanks as permanent shuttering. The open exture of Strandec planks provides a good key for concrete to make it anextraordinary composite slab with additional acoustic, thermal rating and fire resistance properties. The comfort and the savings in airconditioning makes the Strandec composite slabs an economical multipurpose system.

This permanent shuttering system comprises of StrandecTM slab planks installed on posts and temporary wooden planks. Once the shuttering is in place reinforcing bars and concrete is placed as per standard practices. The temporary posts and planks are removed after the desired hardness of concrete is achieved. The StrandecTM Slab plank will have integrated with the concrete to form the unique composite slab.

The composite slabs are designed considering the structural requirements- to meet the requirements of spans, dead load and live loads. For Roof slabs additional thermal insulation can be obtained by using StrandecTM Slab planks (thermal).

The soffit side can be finished in any way required. On the exterior side of slab additional water proofing can be done if required.

Design Parameters
System
The choice of system will be based on the requirements - i.e height, spans, fire resistance thermal shield, acoustics and other loading factors.
Components
StrandecTM - SSP - slab planks with a Tongue and Groove edgeson the long sides and square edges on the short side
• SSP(N) - Strandec slab plank natural

• SSP(C) - Strandec slab plank thermal

• Thickness 30, 40 and 50mm

• Width 600mm

• Length 1200mm

• Panel clips

• Rebars as per design requirements

• Glassfibre Mat as a substrate for finishing plaster where required

• Finishing plaster if required
System Choices
StrandecTM Panel made from Inorganic Bonded Composites completely mineralized using Portland cement makes it as strong as wood, which does not shatter, or crack and is fire resistant. The matrix structure gives it strength with lightweight and also with unique acoustical and thermal insulating.

The definitive properties of StrandecTM combined with the established strengths of concrete a wide range of composite slabs can be assembled in a fast track construction StrandecTM Composite Slabs form to varying fire ratings, acoustics, and thermal performance requirements.
Applications
StrandecTM Composite Slabs can be an ideal choice for various end users such as offices, schools, hotels, hospitals, industries, theatres, multiplexes, multi level parking lots etc.
Construction Procedures
Plank placement - StrandecTM Slab planks shall be installed on available structural columns and beams as well as temporary post and shoring planks having a minimum bearing of 60mm on the structural supports and on temporary planks having a minimum bearing of 100 mm. The shoring planks shall be placed perpendicular to long edges with one plank on each end of the board and one at the centre. Thus all the planks are at 600mm centres. The props shall be at 1200mm centres. The props should be adequately secured to ensure no buckling takes place till the concrete is hardened and the temporary props and planks are removed.

Fixing Connecting Clips - the StrandecTM Slab planks are fixed with connecting plank clips on both the longitudinal edges at both the end junctions and one at the centre such that the spacing between the clips is a maximum of 600mm.

Rebar placement - rebaring is to be done as specified by the structural engineer.

Mesh - Anti-crack mesh should be placed as specified by the structural engineer.

Concrete Placement - The conventional practices in concrete placement shall be carried out as per structural engineers specifications.

Removing Temporary props and planks - After the concrete has set to the required strength, the temporary props and planks are removed as per standard procedures.
